Who We Are
Greg Beane has been practicing Family Law since 2006 and exclusively handles cases in matrimonial law. In addition to his extensive experience advocating for clients in front of judges, Greg also has significant expertise in jury trials. After graduating from East Texas Baptist University in 1999, Greg pursued and obtained his MBA in finance at the University of Texas in Arlington in 2003 before earning his law degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Greg is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Janet P. Brumley primarily practices collaborative family law. She published "Divorce Without Disaster," the definitive book on collaborative practice in Texas. Janet is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; is a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers; and has been honored with inclusion in Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers (each year from inception to date), D Magazine Best Lawyers in Dallas, Best Lawyers in America, Top 50 Women Lawyers in Texas and Top 100 Lawyers in Texas.
Paul Brumley tries divorce and modification cases in district and county courts. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been honored with inclusion in Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers (each year from inception to date) and Best Lawyers in America.
Jim Mueller has a reputation for honesty and integrity that serves clients well in skillfully negotiating with opposing counsel to resolve cases. His courtroom experience also helps him to lead clients through the litigation process while managing their expectations. He has successfully litigated child custody and complex property cases before juries and judges in Dallas, Collin, Denton and surrounding counties. In every case, Jim strives to protect the client's interests and assets, while providing valuable counsel. Jim is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been honored with inclusion in Thomson Reuters Rising Stars, which recognizes the top attorneys in Texas under the age of 40 who have practiced for at least five years.
Jimmy L. Verner, Jr. prosecutes and defends family law appeals, tries divorce and modification cases in district and county courts and assists other attorneys in complex cases and post-judgment matters. Jimmy is Board Certified in both Family Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been honored with inclusion in Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers each year from inception to date. He also holds a PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy.
Jelena Kovacevic Yeargain is the newest member of VernerBrumley PC. Jelena brings additional family law experience to the firm but also has a background in corporate, surety, consumer finance, creditors' rights, real estate and bankruptcy. Jelena also worked for several years as a translator and editor in Montenegro. She is fluent in Serbian, as well as in Croatian and Bosnian.
Becky Borders is our office manager and serves as a paralegal. She completed her paralegal training in 2000 through North Texas University. She worked at Southeastern Paralegal Institute before joining the staff at VernerBrumley in 1999. She has trained other paralegals in collaborative practice and serves as the liaison for the Dallas Alliance for Collaborative Family Lawyers. Lawyers, both inside and outside the firm, and clients treasure her able assistance and "can do" spirit.
Leslie Nuñez is our other paralegal. She began her career with VernerBrumley in 1999 as receptionist and has worked her way up to her current position. She has proven herself invaluable in both her acuity at discovery and her compassionate nature. In our office we say "Les is more!"
