Jim Mueller is the owner and managing partner of Mueller Family LawGroup. He is board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and International Academy of Family Lawyers, and author of the book, Divorce in Texas: The Legal Process, Your Rights, and What to Expect.
A Diplomate of the prestigious American College of Family Trial Lawyers, a select group of 100 of the top family law trial lawyers from across the United States, Jim's courtroom skills are widely recognized across the country. His litigation skills allow him to assist clients in navigating through their case for the best possible outcome, be it in the courtroom or the boardroom. He also happens to be one of the few AAML Certified mediators and arbitrators in all of Texas.
His practice focuses primarily on complex divorce matters, high-asset property division, custody battles, and marital property agreements. He is well-versed in handling the most complex business matters, trust issues and division of overseas properties.
Jim is the Chair of the Family Law Section for the State Bar of Texas. He also is the President of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Immediate Past President of the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Second Vice President of the National American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has chaired numerous CLEs across the country and regularly speaks to family law attorneys around the world.
Jim enjoys helping his clients achieve their goals and also serving his fellow colleagues to promote the practice and quality of Family Law throughout the state of Texas. Jim received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College and graduated cum laude from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University.
